Importing from your bank
CSV, Excel or PDF. You don't need to know which column is which.
Supported formats
| Format | Availability | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| CSV | All plans | Most common. Delimiters auto-detected. |
| XLSX (Excel) | All plans | First sheet, headers auto-detected. |
| Pro / Family | On-device OCR. Works with standard bank statements. |
The import wizard (7 steps)
Step 1: Select file
Tap Import and choose your file. The app accepts files from Files, iCloud Drive, email, or any app that shares documents.
Step 2: Preview
The app automatically detects:
- The delimiter (comma, semicolon, tab)
- The encoding (UTF-8, Latin1)
- Any metadata rows (bank name, IBAN) β separated from the header
Step 3: Column mapping
The app suggests which column is the date, amount, description, etc. You can adjust if it gets it wrong.
The app detects whether your bank uses 1.234,56 (European) or 1,234.56 (US). If the detection is off, you can select it manually.
Step 4: Select account
Choose which account to assign these transactions to. If it's your first time, you can create a new one.
Step 5: Deduplication
The app compares with your existing transactions and shows:
- β New β will be imported
- β οΈ Duplicates β already exist, will be skipped
Step 6: Save profile
If this is the first time with this bank, the app offers to save the profile. Next time you import from the same bank, everything configures automatically.
Step 7: Result
Final summary: X imported, Y duplicates, Z errors (if any).
Tips
- Import frequently β the more history the app has, the better its projections
- One file per account β don't mix statements from different accounts in one import
- If a PDF fails β try the CSV from the same period (more reliable)
The free plan allows up to 50 transactions per account. Pro or Family have no limits.
