Setting a budget you'll actually keep

The trick isn't squeezing β€” it's starting from what you already spend.

What is zero-based budgeting?

Every euro (or dollar, or peso) that comes in has an assigned destination. At the end of the period, income minus allocations should equal zero. It doesn't mean you don't spend β€” it means every expense was a conscious decision.

How it works

Automatic period detection

The app analyzes your income and detects whether you're paid weekly, biweekly, or monthly. It suggests the period and start day.

Categories with smart suggestions

When creating a budget, the app suggests amounts based on your real history:

β—†If you've spent ~€200 on food for 3+ months, it suggests €200
β—†It only suggests when confidence is high (low variance)
β—†You can always edit or ignore suggestions

Alerts at 90%

When a category reaches 90% of its budget, you get a notification. You can disable alerts per category.

Auto-adjustment (Pro)

If you consistently overspend by 10%+ in a category for 3 months, the app suggests adjusting the amount when creating the next period.

Rollover (Pro/Family)

πŸ’‘
Balance rollover between periods requires Pro or Family plan.

What you don't spend in a period carries over to the next. If you save €50 in Restaurants, next month you have €50 extra. The same applies in reverse β€” if you overspend, next month starts with less margin.

Without a budget

The app works perfectly without a budget. Projections, insights, and the calendar don't depend on it. The budget is an optional tool for those who want active control.
